Adobe Classifications are managed through massive lookup tables, and the spreadsheets passed back and forth within that system are commonly known as SAINT files. The underlying technology is both simple and powerful: you can assign each campaign initiative a highly granular code, but pull reports that show how these initiatives flow together at a macro level. Think of it as a view-finder that lets you focus all the way in to a specific tree, but that also lets you zoom out from the one tree to a group of trees, to the glen, and then the entire forest.
To make this work, however, Adobe clients are required to prepare and provide a list of codes and their definitions (i.e., a SAINT file) with every new campaign they launch. Doing this fully and consistently is an enormous challenge to companies, so much so that sometimes they choose to sacrifice the benefits of SAINT because of the heavy burden required to maintain it.
Tracking First automates the classification data being sent to Adobe, making available the reports you need in SiteCatalyst and Discover. All of this data is configured directly within the web application, meaning that you never have to create and handle file uploads or downloads again. Even in the advanced case of Multi-Suite Tagging, where you are sending the same tracking codes to multiple report destinations, Tracking First lets you tie those reports together, and apply the same codes and definitions to all of the targets you line up. So truly, you can say goodbye to SAINT files!
